The HURC 2409-18T is 2.1 oz, 1000KV, 180 watt, 400 class direct drive outrunner brushless motor designed for medium to high speed parkflyers. It works well with 9 and 10 inch props and 3-cell Lipo batteries.
We recommend using a 20 to 35 amp ESC with the HURC 2409-18T. The minimum size 3 cell Lipo battery that we recommend using with this motor is an 11.1v 1300 30C. Higher capacity 3 cell batteries are fine to use if your model can handle the extra weight.
MOUNTING OPTIONS: The HURC 2409-18T comes with a firewall mount installed. The Plastic Stick Mount for 2408/2409/2410 Motors and the GWS Plastic Outrunner Mount can be used to mount this motor on a 10mm stick. Always check the tightness of all motor set screws when installing motors. The set screws require a 1.5mm Allen wrench.
Propeller data for 3-cell Lipo batteries (11.1 volt):
GWS and TP props fit the 3mm shaft on this motor perfectly - no adapter is needed.
The APC 10x3.8SF prop produces 30 ounces of thrust at 17 amps with a pitch speed of 25 mph.
The APC 10x4.7SF prop produces 28 ounces of thrust at 17 amps with a pitch speed of 31 mph.
The TP 10x5E prop produces 28 ounces of thrust at 16 amps with a pitch speed of 37 mph.
The GWS EP1060 prop produces 26 ounces of thrust at 14 amps with a pitch speed of 43 mph.
The GWS EP1060x3 3-blade prop produces 27 ounces of thrust at 16 amps with a pitch speed of 42 mph. Very nice on the GWS Warbirds for scale looks.
The APC 9x3.8SF prop produces about 25 ounces of thrust at 13.0 amps with a pitch speed of 30 mph.
The APC 9x4.7SF prop produces about 25 ounces of thrust at 13.5 amps with a pitch speed of 38 mph.
The GWS EP9050 prop produces about 24 ounces of thrust at 11.5 amps with a pitch speed of 40 mph.
The TP 9x6E prop produces about 24 ounces of thrust at 14 amps with a pitch speed of 46 mph.
The GWS HD9075 prop produces about 21 ounces of thrust at 16 amps with a pitch speed of 52 mph. Excellent for high speeds.
The GWS EP8040 prop produces about 18 ounces of thrust at 8 amps with a pitch speed of 39 mph.
The GWS HD8060 prop produces about 19 ounces of thrust at 11 amps with a pitch speed of 53 mph.
Propeller data for 2-cell Lipo batteries (7.4 volt):
The GWS DD1280 prop produces about 18 ounces of thrust at 14.5 amps with a pitch speed of 25 mph.
The GWS EP1147 prop produces about 17 ounces of thrust at 10 amps with a pitch speed of 21 mph.
The GWS EP1170 prop produces about 17 ounces of thrust at 10 amps with a pitch speed of 32 mph.
Please be aware that the battery used can make a tremendous amount of difference in the performance of brushless motors. The above data was obtained using batteries in good condition that were fully charged. Thrust and amp draw may be less with the use of batteries rated at lower amp output, and slightly more using batteries rated for higher amp output. Other factors, such as ESC timing and variations in actual motor KV can affect the performance of brushless motors as well. We recommend the use of a Watt Meter to test the current draw of your particular power system, especially if you plan to use a prop that pushes the motor near it's maximum amp rating.
