Prop Saver for 3mm Shaft - Multi-size - Includes Two Rubber 'O' Rings.
Prop Savers help prevent propeller and motor shaft damage in the event of a prop strike.
This Prop Saver is blue in color, and has long screws which allow two rubber 'O' rings to be used for high power applications, although one 'O' ring is often sufficient.
This Multi-size 3mm Prop Saver works well with 8 inch and larger GWS straight blade props, such as the EP8040, HD8060, EP9050, HD9075, EP1060, HD1080, EP1170 and DD1280.
The GWS Slow Fly props (curved blade) do not fit well on this prop saver unless you ream the prop hole a little. The regular 3mm Prop Saver (available in our store) works best with the Slow Fly props.
Most APC and TP props fit this prop saver when the correct bushing is used.
If your motor has a long shaft, I recommend that you mount the Prop Saver close to the motor and cut the motor shaft even with the Prop Saver. This allows for maximum flexibility for the prop in case of a prop strike, and helps prevent bending the motor shaft.
If you allow the prop shaft to extend through the prop hub, most any prop with a 3mm hole can be mounted, but the Prop Saver does not protect the prop very much, as the prop cannot flex in all directions.
