The 2712-30 is a 0.9 ounce, 300 class, 3000KV direct drive outrunner motor that works well on small pusher jets, flying wings and a wide variety of small foam models. This motor is designed to be used with a 2 cell Lipo battery.
The 2712-30 will produce up to 17 ounces of thrust using a APC 7x4E prop, or you can get very high speed using an APC 6x5.5E prop. Good battery choices for this motor include the EZ Flight 7.4v 1000 30C and 7.4v 1300 30C Lipo batteries.
We recommend using the EZ Flite 18A, 25A, or 35A ESCs with this motor. If you use another brand of ESC, be sure to set the timing to "high". Please note that not all ESCs are capable of running this motor smoothly.
The 2712-30 comes does not include connectors. EZ Flight ESCs come with female 3.5mm bullet connectors installed, and male 3.5mm bullet connectors are included for a motor.
MOUNTING OPTIONS: A firewall mount is included, and an aluminum stick mount with heat sink is available in our store.
Propeller data for 2 cell Lipo batteries:
The APC 7x4E produces about 17 ounces of thrust at 20 amps.
The EMP 6x3E produces about 14 ounces of thrust at 15 amps.
The EMP 6x4E produces about 13 ounces of thrust at 16 amps.
The APC 6x4E produces about 12 ounces of thrust at 15 amps.
The APC 6x5.5E produces about 12 ounces of thrust at 18 amps.
The APC 5.5x4.5E produces about 11 ounces of thrust at 15 amps.
The APC 5.1x4.5E produces about 10 ounces of thrust at 14 amps.
The EMP 5x5E produces about 10 ounces of thrust at 15 amps.
Please be aware that the battery used can make a tremendous amount of difference in the performance of brushless motors. The above data was obtained using batteries in good condition that were fully charged. Thrust and amp draw may be less with the use of batteries rated at lower amp output, and slightly more using batteries rated for higher amp output. Other factors, such as ESC timing and variations in actual motor KV can affect the performance of brushless motors as well. We recommend the use of a Watt Meter to test the current draw of your particular power system, especially if you plan to use a prop that pushes the motor near it's maximum amp rating.
