The Emax GT4030 500kv is a 13.4 ounce, 500KV, 1400 watt outrunner brushless motor that is roughly equivalent to a .60 2 stroke nitro engine. It's a good choice for sport and scale airplanes weighing 5 to 10 pounds, or 3D planes up to 7 pounds.
The following set up is a good choice for many .60 size sport planes: Emax GT4030 500kv 70A to 100A OPTO ESC 3A or 5A UBEC or a receiver battery APC 13x6.5 prop EZ Flite 22.2v 4200 35C Lipo Battery This power set up provides about 8 pounds of thrust with a fresh battery.
The Emax GT4030 500kv is designed for use with 4, 5 and 6 cell Lipo batteries, and we recommend using a 70A to 100A Electronic Speed Control (ESC) with this motor.
The GT4030 500kv does not have connecotrs installed, but many of our speed controls include connectors for a motor.
MOUNTING OPTIONS: The GT4030 500kv can be mounted in front of a firewall using the included X mount and rotor end prop adapter. It can also be mounted behind a firewall, and an 8mm Prop Adapter can be purchased to mount a prop on the motor shaft.
Propeller data for the GT4030 500kv using a 6-cell Lipo battery: It's a good idea to balance all propellers with a Propeller Balancer before using them on this motor. Rotating propellers are dangerous. Please stay clear of prop and wear eye protection.

Please be aware that the battery used can make a tremendous amount of difference in the performance of brushless motors. The above data was obtained using batteries in good condition that were fully charged. Thrust and amp draw may be less with the use of batteries rated at lower amp output, and slightly more using batteries rated for higher amp output. Other factors, such as ESC timing and variations in actual motor KV can affect the performance of brushless motors as well. We recommend the use of a Watt Meter to test the current draw of your particular power system, especially if you plan to use a prop that pushes the motor near it's maximum amp rating.
